Meeting was called to order at 19:47 with 31 present. Tonight we are again having a joint meeting with the SFMMA and the Dade Radio Club.

Ronnie welcomed everyone to the joint SFFMA and DRC meeting. The SFFMA will have its meeting first and then the DRC will have its meeting. The meeting was not broadcast live on the air tonight from the EOC. Testing is being conducted tonight in another room. We have quite a few people again tonight.

The microphone was then passed around the room and everyone stated their name and call sign.

Ronnie welcomed everyone again. We do not have a guest speaker tonight.

The minutes for June and July were posted on the web. A motion was made by Ernesto to accept the June minutes, seconded by Chris. A motion was made by Philipe to accept the July minutes, seconded by Robert. Ray advised that our new membership roster is also published on the website.

Repeater update:

Robert reported on the 220.000. It is not working. It is at his house. He aligned it and it needs to go back.

Ray spoke about the 146.760. He has posted the pictures of the antenna party on the website. The repeater is working well.

Carl advised that the 444.200 is still working.

John was not present tonight. Merritt advised that the 147.000 is not active. We are using the other machine tonight at the old site. After tonight the are going to put the PL back on and get the repeater back up and running on the new site. Jeff explained what a PL is to those present. Everything on the tower needs to come down and be redone. Per John the new cabinet is ready to go.

Old Business:

Ronnie spoke about the July 15 weekend when they worked on the trailer. Carl advised that it needs more work on the roof. The tires are done but he needs to take it for a ride. Robert replaced all 4-wheel bearings on all 4 wheels and the brakes. Robert advised that the money spent on the trailer was reimbursed by funds that Lee had left them of $150.00 for supplies and parts. Jeff advised that the batteries are ok. He suggested that a list of things the trailer needs should be made so that maybe we can have some of them donated. Jeff donated the brackets for the awnings. Carl donated an awning for the trailer. Robert discussed that we need some serious weight reduction of the trailer.

Ronnie reminded everyone that dues were officially due Jan 1, 2006. We have 21 total members at this time, 19 paid and 2 life members. You can give your dues to Ronnie or Caesar tonight. Dues are $30.00 per year and $5.00 for each family member. If you are a new ham, you can become a non-voting member for 1 year free, and are considered honorary members for the rest of the year. A membership list is posted on the website. Ronnie advised what we use the dues for - corporation filing fees, insurance for events, snacks at the meetings, our Holiday Dinner, etc.

Ernesto spoke about the MS 150 Break Away Bike-A-Thon. No change. The first meeting is tomorrow evening. He will let us know next month.

Ronnie asked if there was any more Old Business. There was none and we went on to New Business:

New Business:

Per Carl, we are waiting for information on the Kayak Race.

Ronnie advised that the Melbourne Hamfest is October 14 and 15 this year. See him if you are interested in going. It was suggested that no one stay at the Suburban Inn.

Ronnie is waiting for information on the Miami Marathon. It should be the last weekend in January. Ben Nesmer will be here at the next meeting.

Philipe advised that the Tampa Hamfest will take place on August 17th in Tampa.

Brian spoke about the Miami-Dade Police Civilian Traffic Control Training he took on Saturday, July 22. He highly recommended the course. He said that once you take the course, you name goes on a list and they will call you after a hurricane to direct traffic with a police officer. If you are interested, contact Detective Ted Peterson at 305-471-1752 or email tpeterson@mdpd.com. Joanne advised that CERT had offered the same course some months ago. If she hears about it being offered again, she will advise.

Robert spoke about digipeaters and that we should look into several sites. Ernesto advised it is software based. We can look into several sites instead of one with Smart TNC.

Ronnie inquired as to the testing status. It was unknown.

Ronnie opened the floor to any other new business. There was none.

With no other business, Ronnie thanked everyone for coming and turned the meeting over to the Dade Radio Club.

The meeting was adjourned at 20:20.
