Meeting was called to order at 20:05 with 32 present.

Ronnie welcomed all to the SFFMA meeting. The meeting was being broadcast live on the air tonight from the EOC. There testing was being held in another room tonight.

The microphone was then passed around the room and everyone stated their name and call sign.

Ronnie welcomed everyone again.

Repeater update:

Ray spoke about the 146.760. It is still there. He let Skywarn us it. If you have any problems, please let him know.

Carl spoke about the 444.200. Up and working.

John spoke about the 147.000. It is down. It will probably be up the weekend after next. Need to start thinking about a new cabinet. We need a 19' aluminum cabinet and it is about 4'-5' tall. It will need to be put up after hurricane season. Steve said that it would cost approximately $1600.00 for a new cabinet. James said that we have the funds for it.

Robert was not present tonight.

Ray announced that pictures from the latest tower trip that took place in July to the 147.000 are on the web at SFFMA.net.

No other repeater trustees were present.

Tonight we will have a presentation by Ernesto of a "go box" portable repeater and we welcome Brian Bailey back from Iraq and he will give us a presentation of pictures and answer questions after the meeting.

Old Business:

Last month's minutes were posted on the web. A motion to accept the minutes was made by Caesar and seconded by Ernesto.

Ernesto spoke about the MS 150. He attended an award ceremony and received awards on behalf of John Veccio, Andy Pichs and ARPSC. Over $1.5 million was raised. He thanked everyone for all their help and assistance that participated. He asked Carl to come up and accept the ARPSC award for the wall. Ernesto said that there will be minor changes next year, but that they will not affect us.

Ronnie reminded everyone that dues are officially due Jan 1, 2005. Give your dues to Ronnie or James tonight or send them to the PO Box. Dues are $30.00 per year and $5.00 for each family member. The club uses the funds received from the dues for insurance, cabinet replacement, dinners and refreshments, to name a few.

Joanne advised that there will be a statewide CERT exercise on September 2 at the Broward County Convention Center.

Ronnie advised that with regard to Skywarn, that there are no coordinated efforts for Skywarn to use our repeaters. We have insurance and if we sponsor the Skywarn group, we will have to extend our insurance coverage to them. This is something that the club is not going to do. Ray said that they were using the 146.760. They are welcome to us it, but it is not a club sponsored activity for our club. Everyone is welcome to use our repeaters.

George requested a copy of the up-to-date membership list and inquired as to the status of his check. James has several checks. He is a little behind.

Ray brought up about the health of some of our members. Ronnie spoke about Joe has been on dialysis and is at St. Ann's. He is doing a little better. Carl announced that Harry could not make the meeting tonight, but he is doing well. Carl wants us all to show up at next month's meeting for something special. Carl also advised that John Hall is in Baptist Hospital. He had a heart attack and is doing better and should go home soon.

Ronnie advised that several individuals from our club went to the Value Jet site, which had been vandalized and cleaned up the site. We were mentioned three times in The Miami Herald and several times on TV. It made coverage all over the nation and in one UK newspaper. Great job!

New Business:

Ronnie announced that one of our top 10 events that we attend is next month, Sept 9, 10 & 11. The Melbourne Hamfest. If anyone is interested in going, they should be staying at the Suburban Inn, next to the Hilton. Phone number is 1-321-768-9777. Rooms are approximately $60.00 per room. If everyone does not want to go there, pick another hotel. Ray announced that the Hilton is $98.00 per room, which is too high. The good thing about this hotel is that the pool is away from the hotel, which helps with late night parties. But it is no bargain. Any info regarding any group rate will be posted on line.

Ronnie announced that at next month's meeting, he will let us know about getting tee shirts for members so that when we go to amateur radio events, we will be recognized.

Robert, the chairman for next year's Hamboree, is not present. We have no update on the Hamboree at this meeting.

Eddie from the American Red Cross announced that classes are starting up again. Check the website for the schedule of upcoming classes. All of the ID badges that were issued last year are expiring. Call Freddy and he will mail you your new one. Ronnie said that he will collect all of the old badges at next month's meeting and send them to Freddy for replacement.

Don Morris announced that he wants to have a repeater party. He wants to find out who can reach what repeater since the 147.000 is down. He is inviting everyone to join him on the air for his repeater party.

James gave his treasurer's report to those present.

Ronnie again gave our best regards to Joe, Harry and John.

Ronnie opened the floor for any questions or concerns. There were none.

With no other business, Ronnie announced that we will go off the air for our presentations tonight. Refreshments were served in the cafeteria. He thanked everyone for coming.

The meeting was adjourned at 20:35.
