Ronnie welcomed all to the SFFMA meeting. The meeting was being broadcast live on the air tonight from the EOC. There is no testing being conducted tonight. Testing will be at the next meeting on March 13, 2006 at 7:30 PM.

The microphone was then passed around the room and everyone stated their name and call sign.

Ronnie welcomed everyone again. Ronnie announced that we have a guest speaker tonight, Gordon West.

The January minutes were posted on the web. A motion to accept the minutes was made by Daniel and seconded by Philipe.

Repeater update:

Ray spoke about the 146.760. Continues to work well. Used at the Hamboree.

John spoke about the 147.000. It is up and running but no one is using it. Seems to be working. Receiving signals from Palm Beach. Looking ofr a new Receiver. The new crystal is ordered.

Robert spoke about the 220.000. It is working. He has no one to talk to. He monitors the frequency. A hand held can hit it from the Cloverleaf from inside of a car with 1 watt.

Carl spoke about the 444.200. Working well.

Old Business:

Ronnie welcomed Gordon West, our guest speaker this evening.

Ronnie announced that we had elections at the November meeting. The following Officers were elected to next year's term:

Ronnie reminded everyone that dues are officially due Jan 1, 2006. Give your dues to Ronnie or Caesar tonight or send them to the PO Box. Dues are $30.00 per year and $5.00 for each family member. If you are a new ham, you can become a non-voting member for 1 year free.

Ronnie announced that the Dade Radio Club will meet after our meeting.

Robert spoke about the Hamfest in Orlando. He was not impressed. He had a better time in Melborne. Ray said that he had a great time. He got some good deals. Rain wiped out Saturday and Sunday was a dust storm, but it was good.

Ronnie spoke about the Miami Topical Marathon which was held on Sunday, February 5. He had a great time. Brian ran. There were not too many volunteers. Several people volunteered but never got called so they did not show up. Philipe had a lot of fun.

New business:

Ronnie announced that in 10 days, Carl is retiring. Ray is going to continue to reserve the room so that we can continue having meetings here, the 2nd Monday of each month.

David, the Treasurer from the Dade Radio Club, spoke about reimbursement for a recent purchase. Robert explained that we and the Dade Radio Club spent the funds for Carl's parting gift, a radio, as a "Thank You" gift. Carl spoke about his new radio. Several present thanked Carl for all his help.

The microphone was turned over to Jeff, the President of the Dade Radio Club. They spoke about the next Hamboree conflicting with the Super Bowl because it is the same weekend. Robert advised that the Super Bowl will be here in 2007 and most likely again in 2010. There are no hotels available and it kills our attendance. Dates in October and June were discussed. There is a problem with the vendors. They cannot go to 2 separate shows. They want to attend shows back-to-back. Discussion was had by those presents as to the pros and cons of different months and of events that are planned.

Ernesto spoke about the Bike-A-Thon. It is going to take place May 6 & 7 this year. The EOC will be for communications again this year. He is pleading for help. The numbers are up from last year and we are going to break out goal.

Robert announced that he needs an assistant chairman for the Hamboree because he needs help. Ray announced to go on the website and fill out the feedback form and give us your ideas.

Ronnie then discussed a dinner for Carl for his retirement.

Ronnie opened the floor for any other questions or concerns. There were none.

Ronnie then introduced Gordon West our guest speaker. He spoke about last year's hurricane season. Great presentation and he answered questions.

Carl gave out certificates to those that helped with Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Wilma.

It was announced that we need a membership committee.

With no other business, Ronnie thanked everyone for coming. Refreshments were served in the back.

The meeting was adjourned at 20:57.
