Meeting was called to order at 19:50 with 28 present.

Ronnie welcomed all to the SFFMA meeting. The meeting was being broadcast live on the air tonight from the EOC. Testing is going on in another room.

The microphone was passed around the room and everyone stated their name and call sign.

Ronnie welcomed everyone again. Last month's minutes were not posted yet and they will be voted on at the next meeting.

Repeater update:

Carl spoke about the 444.200. Up and working.

Ray spoke about the 146.760. It is up and working.

Robert spoke about the 224.200. Having a possible problem and needs equipment to test it.

No other repeater trustees were present.

We have two possible presentations tonight. One is an AM exhibit by Robert with a video to show. The other is a video presentation of the videos that were donated by Dennis, if time permits.

Old Business:

Ronnie advised that last month's meeting in February was on Valentine's Day and that we had a small turnout.

Carl spoke about Hamboree. It came and went. It was better than expected. They learned that attendance may have been up from the flyers that were handed out. Next year we are going to hand out more flyers. He wants to get every Ham to hand out flyers for next year.

Carl advised with regard to ARES/RACES ID cards. They will start issuing them at the next meeting. The cards have been approved by the office of emergency management. Everything will now be on 1 card. Everyone will turn in their old cards. You will have to sign for the card and state that you do not have any old cards. We had 1 incident and it has been taken care of.

Ernesto then spoke about the MS Breakaway to Key Largo. The revised numbers are that we now have 1,292 riders registered so far this year compared to 1,054 last year. MS wants us to help them out with a "sneak peek" on March 19th, this Saturday. They want 15 of us to go to rest stop to rest stop. It will take place from about 6:30 AM to 12 Noon. Ernesto needs volunteers. Ernesto has the volunteer forms on his website. Fill it out and fax it in. The website is KG4LXH.com. The main event is for April 16 and 17. The FAX number is 305-971-0595. Do not mail the flyer to the MS office. If you want to email the form to Ernesto, the email address is: MS150@KG4LXH.com. MS appreciates our hard work. Ernesto is Co-Chair of the Committee and he expects that he will be Chairman next year.

Robert announced that the weekend before the MS Breakaway is a Walk-A-Thon. Lysette needs more volunteers. She will be here shortly. Please see her to sign up to volunteer.

Ronnie reminded everyone that dues are officially due Jan 1, 2005. Give your dues to James tonight or send them to the PO Box. Dues are $30.00 per year and $5.00 for each family member. James announced that there will be a new membership roster available at the next meeting.

New Business:

Ronnie announced that Field Day this year is the last full weekend in June, June 25 and 26. He would like to see the American Radio Club, Dade Radio Club and us get together so that we can have a large Field Day with everyone. Caesar made a motion to acknowledge these dates for Field Day, seconded by Frank and 3rd by Steve. Ronnie will find out the name of the park that it will be held at. He thought that it was Jose Marti Park, but will let everybody know. They will also have camping for those who want to camp out.

Joanne advised that CERT announced their annual exercise coming up in May, but they did not disclose where in the County it will be. She will keep us informed.

Robert was our guest speaker tonight and gave an excellent presentation of the Select Antenna DX that he bought at the Hamboree. He gave a demonstration on how it works. He also showed those present a video on Hallicrafters Company's WWII "Voice of Victory" and the SCR 299 used by the US Army Signal Corps for powerful mobile radio transmissions that were used by all of the armed forces for successful attacks in WWII. The Hallicrafters unit HT-4 model was changed to the SCR 299. It allowed 20 meter phone or cw all around the world.

Because of time running late, it was agreed that we will see some of Dennis's four exploration videos at the next meeting or at some of our future meetings.

Bob Goldberg announced that the testing tonight that we had 7 applicants and all 7 passed. We have 2 generals, 5 techs and one of the techs is 9 years old.

With no other business, Ronnie announced that refreshments were in the cafeteria. He thanked everyone for coming.

The meeting was adjourned at 20:45.
