MEETING ON MONDAY APRIL 14 AT THE EOC AT 1930

Meeting was called to order at 19:50 with 29 present.

Ronnie welcomed to the SFFMA meeting. The meeting was being broadcast live on the air tonight. Call in if you have any questions to (305)-468-5803.

Caesar made a motion to accept the February minutes as posted on the Web, seconded by Steve, and passed.

Repeater update:

Robert said the 220 is up and running.
Ray said the 146.76 is up and running.

Jason said the 147.150 is up and running.

James gave a report on the 147.000 Repeater Fund.  Donations are coming in. Thank you to all that have donated so far. He will have a report on the exact amount at the next meeting. He is collecting dues here tonight. They are $30.00. For family membership, add $5.00 per family member. Please send your dues or donations for the 147.000 Repeater Fund to our P.O. Box.

Old Business:

Randy brought us up-to-date on the March of Dimes Walk-A-Thon which is scheduled for April 5, 2003. Volunteers are needed. Contact Wendy or Randy if you are interested in helping out.  Jeff is coordinating APRS trackers.

Ernesto brought us up-to-date on the Bike-A-Thon for April 26 and 27. As of February 18, 690 riders as opposed to 535 last year; 85 teams as opposed to 63 last year; and $73,500.00 as opposed to zero last year. The goal is 1500 riders. He has forms if any one present here tonight wants to volunteer. If you want to volunteer and you are not present here tonight, you can go to the web site for the form at www.KG4LXH.us, download the form and FAX it to Ernesto.

Eddie advised that the American Red Cross is offering classes. They are listed on the web site. If we get a group together and let him know, we can hold the classes at the EOC. The web site is: miamiredcross.org.

Brendan gave the CERT report. There is a class here at the EOC this Saturday, March 15, from 9:00 A.M. 12:00 Noon in the Auditorium. This will count as a refresher course. Meetings are to take place the 3rd Saturday of the month at the EOC at 9:00
A.M.

Robert spoke about shortening the message on the 147.000 at the top of the hour. Ray spoke to John at the Hamboree about it. Ronnie will contact John.

New Business:

James gave a great presentation on What TSA Means to the Traveling Public . It was very informative. He explained what the Transportation Security Administration does at the airport and how baggage and passenger screening is handled. For travel tips
you can go to the web site of www.tsatraveltips.us. If you have questions, you can e-mail the Customer Service Center at  telltsa@tsa.dot.gov. James answered numerous questions. 

Ernesto gave a demonstration on how to modulate light using various frequencies and audio tones from light sources. It was very informative. He answered questions.

Ronnie reminded everyone to eat the snacks in the back of the room and to see James to pay your membership dues.

The meeting was adjourned at 21:17.
