Meeting was called to order at 20:05 with 27 present.

Ronnie welcomed all to the SFFMA meeting. The meeting was being broadcast live on the air tonight from the EOC. There testing was being held in another room tonight.

The microphone was then passed around the room and everyone stated their name and call sign.

Ronnie welcomed everyone again. Ronnie announced that we do not have a guest speaker tonight but Andy will give a small presentation tonight about before and after Hurricane Wilma.

Repeater update:

Carl spoke about the 444.200. Up and running and it ID's. Its range is now from Broward County - South.

Ray spoke about the 146.760. Did well during Wilma. Was working on generator power. Antenna had some damage. It has a slight bend. The mast is bent on the 224.200, but it is otherwise OK. The 6-meter antenna that was falling a part, survived fine. The expensive antennas did not do well and the cheap fiberglass antennas did great.

John was not present tonight but those in attendance advised that the range shifted. Ray advised that no one has been on the tower since Wilma and there may be water in the cabinet or antenna damage.

Old Business:

Last month's minutes were posted on the web. A motion to accept the minutes was made by Caesar and seconded by Steve.

Ronnie announced that tonight we are going to finish the nominations tonight, talk about the Holiday Dinner, and have a discussion of after action and how we did in the storm and after the storm.

Ronnie reminded everyone that dues are officially due Jan 1, 2006. Give your dues to Ronnie tonight or send them to the PO Box. Dues are $30.00 per year and $5.00 for each family member. The club uses the funds received from the dues for insurance, cabinet replacement, dinners and refreshments, to name a few.

Ronnie announced that on December 10 at 7 PM we will be having our Holiday Dinner at the EOC. The Honey Baked Ham Store caters it. Tickets are $8.00 adults and $6.00 for children under 12. Get your tickets from Ronnie. We had a large turnout last year. You can bring your family members and friends. You need to get tickets and pay ahead of time. No tickets will be available at the door.

New Business:

The Kayak race is November 19. David is still handling it. See David if you are interested in volunteering. He is not here tonight. Not sure if it is on or not. Check your email.

The list of nominations from the last meeting were read and after discussion by those present, and a close of the nominations, the following Officers were automatically approved since they ran unopposed and are therefore elected to next year's term:

Ronnie opened the floor for any other questions or concerns. There were none.

We went off the air for Andy's presentation at 20:35. It was a very interesting presentation as to what happened to antennas during Hurricane Wilma in our area.

Next, those present spoke about what happened after Wilma. Shelter problems were discussed and the division of duties at the shelters. Ronnie advised that everyone should check in before and after a storm. Armando advised that the Red Cross is giving internal volunteers a 2-hour workshop to obtain their Ham licenses. This has been offered twice in the past and will be offered again.

Merritt gave a show and tell on a transformer on a power pole and how it works, etc.
